Yard of the Month

The Somerton Parks and Recreation Commission (PRC) is sponsoring a perpetual, self-governed yard
of the month. The purpose of the program is to recognize City of Somerton residents who demonstrate
above–average efforts in maintaining their property, thereby contributing to the overall appearance of the
community at large.

Each resident may nominate any yard within the City of Somerton city limits including their own by
submitting the attached nomination form via email to somerton_prc@outlook.com or in person at the
Somerton Parks and Recreation office located within City Hall Monday - Friday 7 AM to 6 PM. All
nominations must also have the name and contact information of the person(s) making the nomination.
Incomplete forms may be disqualified from review.

The PRC will review the nominations and visit the properties for a final selection. If no nominations are
received by the 5th of each month, the PRC will nominate and select the award winner.
All award winners receive an official Yard of the Month lawn sign, to be placed on their property for the
duration of their award month. The sign should be midway between the street and the front of the house.
Yard of the Month winners must be willing to have photos taken and will be recognized on the
Somerton Parks and Recreation Commission website and social media sites.
